Peter Bortnem

I have been a State Farm agent since 2005. As the son of a Lutheran pastor from South Dakota and an RN from Northern Minnesota, my early years were spent in Lethbridge, Alberta, Canada. During my childhood, I lived in Foremost, Provost, and Edmonton, Alberta. Naturally, I learned to skate at a young age, but it wasn't until we moved to the United States that I started playing hockey. I lived in Minneapolis, MN, for a few years before moving to Thief River Falls, MN, for middle school and high school—Go Prowlers! I graduated from Concordia College in Moorhead, MN—Go Cobbers!—and spent 14 years in the resort and golf business in Detroit Lakes, MN.

My wife and I have two boys who are actively involved in music, basketball, track, and cross-country. Our eldest son, Søren, is studying Commercial Violin and piano at Belmont University in Nashville, TN—Go Bruins! Our youngest son, Charlie, is a junior at Dassel Cokato High School—Go Chargers! We love supporting their activities and cheering for the Dassel Cokato Chargers. Additionally, I am active in the community, working with the Cokato-Dassel Rotary Club, serving as a board member for the CCT, and volunteering to assist middle school students with their reading skills and high school seniors through the Rotary Strive program.

Our office is located at 245 Broadway Ave in downtown Cokato, MN, next to City Hall. We're just two minutes from Cokato’s Bait & Hook restaurant and three minutes from Cokato’s Lucky Kitchen restaurant. We are available to meet with you in person, virtually, or via text or phone. We assist customers throughout Minnesota with Auto Insurance, Motorcycle Insurance, ATV Insurance, Boat Insurance, Home Insurance, Renters Insurance, Farm & Ranch Insurance, Business Insurance, and Life Insurance.
